The Association of the Friends of Liminka Bay (Liminganlahden Ystävät ry) is organizing the Liminganlahti bird photography competition for the third time. In 2013, the competition will be open to international entries for the first time!

Timetable for submissions: 1.1.2013 to 30.4.2013

Categories: Wetland birds, Birds in motion, Enchanting birds, Young people under 18 years of age.

Judges: Hannu Hautala, Bence Máté, Jari Peltomäki, Mika Honkalinna, Jan Södersved and Markus Varesvuo. The jury is waiting for Your astonishing photos!

There are still photographable Great Grey Owls in Oulu. Now it would be possible to combine naturally hunting Great Grey Owls and lekking Black Grouse to the same photography trip! Finnature will arrange a workshop on 5th-8th April 2013. In early mornings we will photograph Black Grouse from hides. During the afternoons/evenings we will concentrate on Great Grey owl.

There have been up to a dozen sightings of Great Grey Owls within the last week. Seems like most of the individuals are packed on the coast near Oulu. Finnature guides are currently observing some of these owls to see if they stay in the area. Now it’s a good time to subscribe Finnature newsletter.
